Why Not: Lead Like People Matter is a leadership podcast for people who are tired of performative culture work and ready to build systems where people actually matter. Hosted by creative leadership expert Ryan Sailstad, creator of the Caird Method, with co-hosts Rory Sylvia, a systems strategist who focuses on how teams work together and created the RIDE Framework, and Nicole Eisdorfer, a behavioral researcher and HR philosopher who brings sharp insight to the messiest parts of workplace culture. Together, they dig into how to lead, how to thrive, and how to fix what’s broken in the way we work—without the buzzwords and without the bullshit. Season One covers seven leadership mantras that challenge the way work usually works—starting with: You Don’t Need the Shark.

In this kickoff episode of Why Not: Lead Like People Matter, we dive into the first leadership mantra:
📌 You Don’t Need the Shark.
It’s a story about sunk costs, broken plans, and the magic that happens when leaders stop waiting for the perfect tool, approval, or fix—and start building with what they’ve got. Inspired by the behind-the-scenes chaos of Jaws, this episode explores what happens when the big idea breaks... and something better shows up in its place.
Host Ryan Sailstad—creator of the Caird Method—is joined by co-hosts Rory Sylvia (creator of the RIDE Framework) and Nicole Eisdorfer (behavioral researcher and HR philosopher) for a conversation about smart pivots, leadership improvisation, and why the plan isn’t the point—the people are.

Ermegherd. LOVED this conversation! I didn’t know what to expect from the title but. I won’t be forgetting that analogy any time soon, that’s for sure. And I loved Nicole’s story about late patients... This is why I’m a huge fan of design thinking and people-centric design. And finally... We need more play, fun, and joy in the #%$@ workplace!
